Randomness

So I have a few random pictures to share with you. Garrett had his first day of second grade this past week. He came home from school a little worn out but excited to see his siblings. When I asked him about his teacher and he said, "She really wasn't that mean!" Apparently he was expecting something awful. (The only decent picture I had of him was this one--Lexie worms her way into most pictures.)

My kids love music and dancing. Here is a picture of Lexie and Collin getting "busy,"their term for dizzy.

I made bread the other day and it was on the counter cooling. I got distracted (not an uncommon occurrence) and forgot to cover it with a cloth. Lexie came to see what I was doing and I noticed she was chewing something. I asked her what she was eating and she said, "I just have a bite." I couldn't tell what she was eating, but it didn't look poisonous so I didn't make her spit it out. When I came back to the kitchen, this is what I found.

I put a cute mosquito netting around Lexie's bed (I know it has a nicer name than that but I just can't think of it at the moment) and she had a blast playing in it.

Of course, I didn't want her to pull it down, so I decided to pull it back so she wouldn't rip it getting in and out of bed and so she would be less inclined to pull on it. This is what happens when you stitch it back while you are talking on the phone. With my head tilted to one side, the flowers looked to be the same height. Seeing as it only took me 2 1/2 years to hang the thing, I figure I have at least that long to undo the stitching and level out the flowers.

So Cal pix

We recently returned from a trip to Southern CA. We took the kids to Sea World and to the beach a couple of times. We hung out with the Womeldorf family to celebrate the return of David's nephew Tyler from his mission in Argentina. The kids had such a fun time with Daddy being around so much and seeing their cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. The day after we got home, Lexie told me she wanted to go "bye, bye" and that she needed her purse. She went to her room and got the purse that she used to hold the things to entertain her in the car, grabbed a movie and told me that she was ready to go. I am grateful that my kids do so well on long car trips.

Sea World

My kids think the map or brochure at amusement parks is a souvenir. Lexie carried hers around looking at it and thinking she was leading us around the park.

The kids loved to watch the dolphins. They would come right up to the glass and that thrilled the kids!

Garrett was fascinated by the eels.

This baby killer whale was so cute!

They had a water playground area that the kids loved. Garrett was drenched within seconds.

These penguins were grooming each other but the kids thought that they were kissing.

La Jolla Shores

Collin loved playing in the sand and building sand castles.

David and his niece Tyce buried Garrett in the sand. Tyce made him a merman.

This was Lexie's first trip to the ocean and she loved it!

Collin loved to run from the waves.

Santa Monica

Lexie had a great time at the beach and playing with her cousins.

Garrett was cleaning the bit of sand off his upper lip.

The kids were digging for sand crabs with their daddy.

Homecoming

Fiona and Lexie (with Garrett bored) after church.

A bunch of the Womeldorf clan.
