Let it Snow

Here we are inside, all bundled up and ready to go out.We get outside and I get this great idea to take a picture of the kids in the snow covered tree. Boys like climbing trees right? Not my boys. The only one happy to be in the tree was Lexie.
See, Collin is really happy to be there. (As I am typing this post, he saw the picture and said, "Remember when you put me in the tree. I didn't like it, that's why I was crying.")
Garrett was trying to climb back down as soon as I put him up. At least he stopped to smile for the camera instead of yelling at me.
Once safe on the ground, they had some fun. Garrett showed Lexie how to throw snow balls. He made the balls for her and then let her throw them at him. Such a nice big brother.

Collin has some snow (I think it is too puny to even call a snow ball) and is aiming at his Aunt Hillary.
Garrett loves to make snow angels.

Santa is amazing

Collin had a special visitor come to his preschool today. This was no ordinary Santa. He began with the usual stuff about the reindeer, Mrs. Claus, his naughty and nice list, etc. Then, he did some juggling for the kids--they were truly amazed. Finally, he showed the kids how to make magic candy canes.
After Santa, the kids went back to class to make gingerbread houses. They 'glued' graham crackers to empty milk cartons with frosting and added the candy. I thought that was a clever way to do it and much easier than trying to balance the crackers against each other with excited little hands helping.
As it typical Collin, he cannot stay clean if he is within 20 yards of food. In case you can't tell from the pix, he has a dab of frosting on his nose. Collin had so much fun!

As we were leaving the classroom, Collin suddenly hung his head down and started sniffing. I asked him what was wrong. He said, "I am going to have a long baykayshun (vacation) aren't I?" I said, "Yes, and we are going to have so much fun!" His response was, "But Mom, I am going to miss Miss Trisha SOO much!" He is so sweet.

Crazy kids and a gingerbread house

Here is the start, tongue wagging excitement! They both just stuck out their tongues when I said "look at mommy." Should I be concerned about that? I have no idea what Collin is doing.
Yes, the candy for decorating the gingerbread house is not enough, we must have cake, too. Really, the kids to need something to do while mom and dad do all the work.
The finished product. This is the only angle you can look at the house, because I was tired of it and quit without doing the sides or back of the house. A little bit of advice, do not follow the instructions. It would have been much easier if I had decorated the individual pieces (let the frosting stiffen a little during bath time) and then assembled the house and put up the trees. The angles were harder to work with and those darn trees kept getting in the way!
Aren't they just so sweet? You could just eat them up!
