The kids ran a race this morning in South Jordan. It was a one miler and they had a blast! When they finished the race, they got a medal, face painting, raffle prizes, and they got to pick out a teddy bear. (It was call the teddy bear kids race.)

Garrett ran the whole way and did so in about 10 minutes! He was so excited when he finished--and out of breath!

Collin ran a good portion of the way as well. He spent time teasing Daddy who ran with them. He thought it was great fun to spank Dad and then sprint ahead.

Lexie ran most of the way and walked when she wasn't running. I think a mile is quite a ways for little three year old legs. Another parent running with their child commented on what a dainty run Lexie has. Even when keeping up with her brothers, she is still a girly girl!

Here are the munchkins with their medals and teddy bears.

Lexie showed me her medal and said, "It says I love you." Too cute to resist!

Back to School and Back to the Blog

It has been a wild and crazy summer for us. We not only run a hotel, but we have had enough trips to hospitals and cemeteries to last us quite a while. Now that fall is here and school is in, hopefully we will gain some sense of normalcy. I am going to make an effort to post more to the blog again.

Garrett is my big 3rd grader! He was looking forward to going to school but also somewhat sad that his best friend would not be in his class this year. (They have been in the same class the past two years.)

Collin was excited to be riding the bus this year and going to the same school as Garrett. He is now in first grade and is in the same class as his good friend Abbie.

Lexie started preschool this year! She is so excited. Her class is 11 girls and 1 boy (poor boy but loving it for Lexie!). Her 3 little best friends are in the class with her and is so proud to be big! There are no tears on departure from her--instead she threw a tantrum because the boys got to go to school on Friday and she didn't!
